The BEFA Program
This brochure provides general information about the BEFA program and its process.

Canadian Standard of Competency for Architects
The required form of comprehension. This document should be read alongside the Definitions of Competencies. Each competency area is divided into sub-components (x.x), with each sub-component further supported by a list of indicators (x.x.x). These indicators provide examples of activities that may be used to demonstrate competence within that specific sub-component.

Remedial Resources Inventory
This inventory is for BEFA applicants who are required to undertake remedial actions. The document provides BEFA assessors and applicants with options to support remediation of deficiencies identified during the interview phase of the BEFA Program. It is intended to facilitate and standardize the assignment of remedies that are sometimes required at the completion of an applicant’s interview.

Contact Information for Regulatory Organizations of Architecture in Canada (ROAC)
Mentorship Program. The videos on Mentorship have been developed to support the proposed Mentorship process which has not been formally adopted. It is expected that the BEFA Mentorship program will be accepted by the regulators in 2025.
The videos are being posted for general information only. Those viewing are advised that the CACB will not be responding to questions or advising on the Mentorship program until it has been formally adopted by the ROAC.
